Breaking Through Limits, Chondrosarcoma Patients Can Avoid Amputation and Walk with Ease

In 2022, I was suddenly diagnosed with advanced bone cancer. After surgery, radiotherapy, and chemotherapy, I was "paralyzed" and told that I only had 1 year left to live. Other hospitals were unwilling to accept me. I was hopeless and helpless. However, I was lucky to meet St. Stamford Modern Cancer Hospital Guangzhou when I was most helpless. After interventional therapy combined with seed implantation and natural treatment, not only has the tumor "disappeared", but I can also walk normally. Thank God!

Facing cancer, let's fight together!

High-grade chondrosarcoma relapsed after surgery, and the doctor announced that I only had 1 year left to live

I started to have abdominal pain in November 2022, and the test results showed malignant spindle cell sarcoma. I had surgery in a Malaysian hospital, and the postoperative pathology revealed a high-grade chondrosarcoma of about 3x5 cm. Just when I thought the disaster was over, the tumor recurred and metastasized to multiple organs in July 2023. The doctor announced that I only had 1 year left to live and recommended another surgery. At that time, I decisively refused because I recalled the unbearable and painful eight-hour operation and did not want to endure it again. I chose to undergo more than 30 rounds of radiotherapy and chemotherapy in an Indonesian hospital. Not only was my condition not under control, I was "paralyzed" in bed.

Refuse chemoradiotherapy with serious side effects and choose minimally invasive technology with less pain

After experiencing nausea, vomiting, peeling, and dark skin as side effects of chemotherapy, I fell into a confused dilemma. I was frightened by the thought of radiotherapy and chemotherapy and had tremendous fear. So my family and I searched for cancer specialist hospitals on the Internet, hoping for a glimmer of hope. Just when I was on the verge of despair, I saw the St. Stamford Modern Cancer Hospital Guangzhou, which has 18 major new cancer treatment technologies. The anti-cancer story brought me hope. So I contacted the Jakarta International Service Center for remote consultation with oncologists. After learning about minimally invasive cancer treatment with less pain, fewer side effects, and faster recovery, I decided to receive treatment.

Comprehensive minimally invasive treatment accurately eliminates tumors, more efficient than traditional treatment

In May 2024, I came to St. Stamford Modern Cancer Hospital Guangzhou. After a series of physical examinations, the MDT formulated a treatment plan for me based on the examination results: Interventional therapy, seed implantation, and natural therapy. Interventional treatment is to inject 2-92 times the concentration of anti-tumor drugs directly into the tumor through a small catheter to make the tumor inactive. Seed implantation is to eliminate all cancer cells through the gamma rays continuously released by 125I particles into the tumor. Natural therapy effectively controls tumor recurrence by strengthening or correcting the immune system.

Minimally invasive treatment replaces traditional chemoradiotherapy and is several times more effective

During the treatment, local anesthesia was used, so it was safer. I was aware of the treatment process, and I didn't feel any pain. After the treatment, I didn't feel nausea, vomit, or have my skin peel or darken. Compared with surgery and chemotherapy, minimally invasive treatments are much milder! I can accept it. And the doctor said that it would not harm other normal cells and tissues in the body, so I still maintained a good quality of life during the treatment.

After several comprehensive minimally invasive treatments, I can now walk normally without the aid of a wheelchair. Just a few days ago, the doctor brought good news: the latest test results showed that the tumor in my body had completely lost its activity. I thank God and the doctor for saving me from painful radiotherapy and chemotherapy and "paralysis"! I am in good physical condition now and can go out to eat at a nearby Indonesian restaurant!

Left: The pelvic chondrosarcoma was obvious before treatment.

Right: The sarcoma has basically lost its activity after treatment.

The warm environment and the friendliness of the medical staff are engraved in my heart.

The warm environment made me feel comfortable during my hospitalization, and the friendly doctors and nurses made me feel at ease to receive treatment. I am satisfied with everything here, which has increased my confidence in fighting cancer. Professors, doctors, and translators will conduct ward rounds every day, so I can communicate with them directly and get their help in time if I have any situation. The hospital also regularly holds medical tours, holiday celebrations, and birthday parties to relieve patients' physical and mental stress during treatment.

On International Mother’s Day on May 12, 2024, medical staff sent flowers which was a special experience to me

Thanks to the medical staff for their careful care and treatment, allowing me to walk

I hope that friends who are facing cancer can be optimistic and actively accept treatment. Don’t forget to pray and firmly believe that God will bless us. Let us wish each other to defeat cancer as soon as possible!

*Surgery, in addition to the appropriate chemotherapy and radiotherapy, are effective in treating early cancer, but certain patients in late stage of cancer may not be tolerate surgery well as they can be relatively weak. A combination of carefully planned minimally invasive therapy, chemotherapy or radiotherapy can effectively reduce the side effects and discomfort of treatment and may help patient get better efficacy.
