Patients’ Stories
Mayette - Breast Cancer - Philippines
Mayette, a breast cancer patient in the Philippines, was diagnosed with stage II breast cancer in 2013. After about 2 years of conventional treatment, the effect was not good and the disease recurred in 2023. Ulcers appeared in the left breast and a huge mass of nearly 7cm grew in the breast. In March 2024, she came to Guangzhou Modern Cancer Hospital for treatment. The MDT of Guangzhou Modern Cancer Hospital conducted a detailed analysis of Mayette's condition and developed a minimally invasive plan of microwave ablation + arterial interventional treatment. After receiving minimally invasive comprehensive treatment, the breast tumor almost disappeared in 3 months and she has now returned to normal life.
Radik - Rectal Cancer and Lung Cancer - Russia
Radik, 63 years old, is from Kazan, Russia. In October 2022, lesions were found in the lungs and intestines. Further biopsy confirmed that there were two primary cancers, rectal cancer and lung cancer. This occurrence of two primary cancers is rare, with an incidence probability of only about 2%. After seeking consultations in Moscow and Turkey with his son, the proposed solutions consistently involved partial lung and rectal resection with ostomy bag. Unwilling to accept the impacts of traditional treatments, Radik chose to undergo minimally invasive therapy at Guangzhou Modern Cancer Hospital.

Before intestinal tumor treatment (colonoscopy)

Colonoscopy review after three interventions
Upon admission, comprehensive examinations revealed a 16mm*25mm bronchial lesion in the right lower lung lobe and a 78mm intestinal lesion. The multidisciplinary team of our hospital developed a minimally invasive comprehensive treatment plan centered on interventional therapy. Follow-up examinations after two interventional sessions showed reduced lesions in the right lower lung lobe on CT scans and significant shrinkage of intestinal tumors during colonoscopy. Radik's frequent coughing and hematochezia symptoms markedly improved. After completing the seventh treatment session, the lung tumor was essentially deactivated, and the intestinal tumor had shrunk by 90%.
