The annual Father's Day is approaching. In comparison to a mother's caring and expressive love, a father's love is often more understated and reserved, hence the expression that fatherly love is as vast as a mountain or the sea. Fathers may not excel in verbal expressions, but their love is profound and unspoken.
On June 15, 2024, the day before Father’s Day, St. Stamford Modern Cancer Hospital Guangzhou prepared traditional Chinese folding fans to give to all fathers undergoing treatment or accompanying their loved ones in the hospital, wishing them a happy Father's Day.
At 10:00 a.m., Ms. Liu Yansheng, Assistant Director of the International Affairs Department at St. Stamford Modern Cancer Hospital Guangzhou, entered the ward with the head nurses from each floor to extend Father’s Day greetings to all fathers and present them with gifts.
One Mongolian patient, upon receiving the gift, excitedly said that this was his festival and asked the staff to take a photo with him. A Filipino man accompanied his father to the hospital for treatment. He told us that he had just received a blessing call from his daughter and then received well-wishes from the hospital, which doubled his happiness today. Consequently, he expressed deep gratitude towards the hospital.
The fusion of folding fans with calligraphy and painting represents a unique form of artistic expression in China. Fans serve not only as practical tools but also symbolize art and beauty. The design of the folding fans for this event features the theme “Bamboo brings good health.” Bamboo, being evergreen throughout the year, symbolizes resilience and vitality, making it a popular metaphor for longevity and tranquility. We earnestly wish for all patients to overcome their illnesses and return home in good health.
Simultaneously, Father's Day blessings were extended to male doctors in the hospital, who serve as guiding lights for patients on their journey to recovery. Today, they share joy with patients; tomorrow, they will continue to stand together in the fight against cancer.
As an international hospital, St. Stamford Modern Cancer Hospital Guangzhou upholds the principle of "patient-centered care", offering advanced medical technology alongside high-quality services. Father's Day blessings are just a small part of our 60+ value-added services. Through such small activities, we aim to connect these value-added services to enhance the otherwise monotonous hospital stay of patients, enabling them to feel at ease during treatment and achieve better outcomes.
Finally, wishing all fathers a happy Father's Day!
*Surgery, in addition to the appropriate chemotherapy and radiotherapy, are effective in treating early cancer, but certain patients in late stage of cancer may not be tolerate surgery well as they can be relatively weak. A combination of carefully planned minimally invasive therapy, chemotherapy or radiotherapy can effectively reduce the side effects and discomfort of treatment and may help patient get better efficacy.
