Breast cancer is the number one killer threatening women's health worldwide, and the number of new breast cancer patients is increasing year by year.In order to provide more accurate and comprehensive diagnosis and treatment services for breast cancer patients, after careful planning, the Breast Cancer Clinical Prevention and Treatment Center of St. Stanford Modern Cancer Hospital Guangzhou was officially reopened.

At 8:30 a.m. on June 28, the re-opening ceremony of the Breast Cancer Clinical Prevention and Control Center (Breast Cancer Ward) of our hospital was held on the 8th floor. As the leader of the Breast Cancer Clinical Prevention and Control Center, Director Dai Wenyan first delivered a speech. She introduced the relevant data on the incidence of breast cancer: according to statistics, breast cancer has become the world's largest new cancer in 2020, with 2.26 million new patients diagnosed with breast cancer every year. Despite the highest incidence, the mortality rate of breast cancer is not high, most patients with stage 1 to 3 can be cured, 70% of patients with stage 4 breast cancer survive 2 to 5 years, and 30% of cases survive more than 5 years.

 In response to the reopened, she said with joy: "The restart of the breast department is an important milestone in the development of our hospital, aiming to strengthen the discipline construction and improve the quality of breast cancer diagnosis and treatment, and provide more accurate, comprehensive and safe one-stop diagnosis and treatment services for the majority of breast cancer patients." Subsequently, Mr. Wang Huaizhong, president of St. Stamford Modern Cancer Hospital Guangzhou, delivered a speech in which he reviewed the previous brilliant achievements of the breast specialty. It is reported that the breast department of our hospital was established in 2016, after 4 years of cultivation and creation, it has formed a set of standardized treatment mode and highlighted the characteristics of our hospital which have brought a solid effect to many breast cancer patients, it has won wide praise and warm response from all walks of life. Under the leadership of Director Dai Wenyan, the breast specialist team has won several Guangzhou municipal scientific research achievement awards, published a number of professional papers in top domestic journals, and the treatment technology and program of the department has been in line with the domestic and international advanced level, and has accumulated rich experience in clinical practice.

He said that the breast specialty was closed due to the epidemic, and now it is restarted, and the hospital is to meet the diagnosis and treatment needs of the majority of breast cancer patients, providing them with more accurate and comprehensive diagnosis and treatment services throughout the whole course of the disease. At the same time, the hospital will vigorously support the development of the breast specialty in terms of talent cultivation, equipment and medical technology.
