Last December 29, 2016, the signing ceremony was successfully held in the headquarters of St. Stamford Modern Cancer Hospital Guangzhou. The leading expert of minimally invasive cancer treatment in China, Zhang Fujun was officially welcomed in MCHG as Chief Expert of Minimally Invasive Cancer Treatment Department. He also acts as the Chairman of Committee of Specialized Minimally Invasive Cancer Treatment in Chinese Anticancer Association and the Director of Department of Radiation Oncology in Sun Yat-Sen University Cancer Hospital

As Professor Zhang Fujun has been hailed as the Chief Expert in St. Stamford Modern Cancer Hospital Guangzhou, it also marks the leap forward of MCHG after it has become the first JCI-accredited China-Singapore Joint Venture hospital in Guangzhou.

Prof. Zhang Fujun

Professor Zhang Fujun is the Chairman of Specialized Minimally Invasive Cancer Treatment in Chinese Anticancer Association, the Member and Secretary of Committee of Specialized Minimally Invasive Cancer Treatment in Anticancer Association of Guangdong, the Deputy Director of Particle Therapy Team in Chinese Anticancer Association, Editorial Member of Minimally Invasive Surgery and Executive Member of Editorial Board of Imaging and Minimally Invasive Treatment for Cancer.

His researches focus on cancer therapies including CT-guided radioactive particle implantation, microwave ablation, radiofrequency ablation, HIFU therapy, interventional therapy and near-infrared fluorescence imaging of molecular targets.

Prof. Zhang Fujun was awarded with 3 national patents and an Outstanding Contribution Award granted by committee of specialized minimally invasive cancer treatment in Chinese Anticancer Association. In addition, he wrote Interventional Therapy with CT Guide, Closely Interstitial Radioactive Seeds Treatment for Prostate Cancer, Combination of Minimally Invasive Treatment and Multidisciplinary Treatment for Liver Cancer. He also published over 50 professional academic papers in several leading magazine at home and abroad including Chinese Medical Journal, Cancer Biology and Therapy, Chinese Journal of Radiology, etc.

*Surgery, in addition to the appropriate chemotherapy and radiotherapy, are effective in treating early cancer, but certain patients in late stage of cancer may not be tolerate surgery well as they can be relatively weak. A combination of carefully planned minimally invasive therapy, chemotherapy or radiotherapy can effectively reduce the side effects and discomfort of treatment and may help patient get better efficacy.
