For brain cancer patients, painfulness in later treatment is inevitable. In fact, it is even severer than patients with other cancers. Continuous progressive severe painfulness brings to patients anguish physically and mentally, and probably will reduces the treatment effect. How to eliminate the painfulness of patients?

Providing patients with relevant nursing intervention according their personal conditions can effectively reduce their painfulness and improve the treatment effect. Below are some measures of nursing intervention.
1. Psychological intervention: mental care and instruction can smooth the painful feeling of patients. In certain situation, music can reduce their painfulness.
2. Distraction: instruct patients to recall some great memories or encourage them to read books, watch videos and see photos to swift their attention.
3. Reduce external stimulation: make sure the room is quiet and with fresh air and suitable temperature, so as to enable the patient mentally relax and reduce the pain.
4. Relaxation reduces pain. Practice message to patients or instruct them to do exercise like slow abdominal respiration, stretching legs, bending knees and yawning, etc. which can help patient relax systemically and reduce pain.
5. Observe the change of patient’s pain. Nursing personnel and family of patients should closely observe the change of patient’s pain. If there is not obvious improvement of their condition, more measures should be taken to reduce their pain to improve their life quality.
*Surgery, in addition to the appropriate chemotherapy and radiotherapy, are effective in treating early cancer, but certain patients in late stage of cancer may not be tolerate surgery well as they can be relatively weak. A combination of carefully planned minimally invasive therapy, chemotherapy or radiotherapy can effectively reduce the side effects and discomfort of treatment and may help patient get better efficacy.
