American Cancer Society provides an update of 5-year relative corresponding survival rate based on pancreatic cancer stages and it’s as follow:

Pancreatic Cancer Stage I: 12% - 14%;

Pancreatic Cancer Stage II: 5%; - 7%

Pancreatic Cancer Stage III: 3%;

Pancreatic Cancer Stage IV: 1%.

According to TNM staging, T is primary tumor, N is the cancer cells has spread to lymph nodes, M is cancer cells has spread to distant organ.

The extent of the tumor (T): TX show main tumor cannot be assessed due to lack information; T0 means no evidence of a primary tumor; T1 show it has not spread outside of the pancreas; T1a is the cancer no bigger than 2cm; T1b is the tumor bigger than 2cm; T2 show cancer cells had spread to duodenum, gallbladder, and tissue surround the pancreas; T3 show cancer cells had spread to stomach, spleen, colon and aorta.

The spread to nearby lymph nodes (N): NX mean regional lymph nodes cannot be assessed due to lack information; N0 show it has not spread to nearby lymph nodes; N1 show had spread to nearby lymph nodes.

The spread to distant sites (M): M still cannot determine; M0 show it has not spread to distant sites; M1 show it has spread to distant organ.

TNM Staging of Pancreatic Cancer

Stage I Pancreatic Cancer: T1 N0 M0 ; T1 NX M0 ; TX N0 M0 ; TX NX M0.

Treatment for Stage I Pancreatic cancer: Surgery, Chemotherapy, Interventional Therapy, Green Chemotherapy, and TCM and Western Medicine, Natural Therapy.

 Stage II Pancreatic Cancer: T2 N0 M0 ; T2 NX M0 ; T3 N0 M0 ; T3 NX M0.
